Beekeeping for Beginners ~ What to do with a bee swarm

Last spring we had a bee swarm land in our yard. It was quite startling to see a huge clump of bees, thousands and thougsands of bees lying there on a branch.

A bee swarm is when a new queen has been made and part of the colony is leaving with that queen to settle a new colony. They are simply looking for a new home.

If you find you have a swarm of bees in your yard and are looking to start beekeeping you can make some bee hives and start your beekeeping adventure with your visitors.
